Cell Division
An organism is heterozygous at two gene loci on different chromosomes.
Explain how these alleles are transmitted by the process of mitosis to daughter cells.
After mitosis the parent cell's genome is dividedninto two daughter cells.
In most eukaryotes, the nuclear envelope that separates the DNA from the cytoplasm disassembles. The chromosomes align themselves in a line spanning the cell. As the cell elongates, corresponding sister chromosomes are pulled toward opposite ends. A new nuclear envelope forms around the separated sister chromosomes. As mitosis completes, cytokinesis is well underway.
Explain how these alleles are distributed by the process of

The immune system contains three lines of defense. The first line is a barrier that prevents germs from entering the body. The second line is engaged when microbes breach the first line of defense. It is characterized by inflammatory response, redness, or swelling. The third line is characterized by diversity and specificity. It attacks microbes with specific responses.
Compare and contrast the role of T and B cells.
A T or B lymphocyte becomes metabolically active after it has been activated. It differentiates i to plasma cells and memory cells. Plasma cells fight antigens immediately while memory cells are long-lived in contrast and bear receptors specific to the same antigen in the plasma cells.
Animal Reproduction and Development
Discuss the embryonic development of a frog egg
Describe the embryonic stages and explain what is accomplished at each stage.
The vegetal pole is the lower portion and the animal pole is the top half of the egg. When the sperm penetrates the egg, the pigmented cap rotates and a gray crescent appears on the opposite side of entry. Cleavage ends with the formation if the blastula. A blastopore forms at the border of the gray crescent and the vegetal pole.
Give an example of embryonic induction
Gastrulation begins with the formation of the blastopore and ends with the formation of the ectoderm, endoderm, and mesoderm. The ectoderm forms the skin and nervous system while the endoderm
