Introduction
Background of the Study Did you know that all of us are exposed to the risk of electric shock? We are all surrounded by electrical appliances and machinery which exposed us to risk. This study allows us to know the basic information, the causes and effects, and the preventive measure because according to the National Safety Council there are about 600 to 1000 people die every year from electrocution. It continues to rank as the fourth highest cause of industrial facilities, among traffic accidents, violence or homicide, and construction accidents. Electrocution or electric shock is one of the serious problems we always encounter. Death can occur from any shock that carry enough current to stop the heart. The

The greater the use of electricity, however, the greater the opportunity for electrical accidents and incidents a recent study revealed that 30,000 nonfatal electric shock accident occur every year. Such number is difficult or impossible to substantiate, because most electric shock incidents go unreported. The National Safety Council estimates that between 600 and 1000 people die every year from electrocution. Of those killed with voltages below 600, nearly half were working on energized equipment at the time of the electrical accidents. Electrocution continues to rank as the fourth highest cause of industrial fatalities, behind traffic accidents, violence or homicide, and construction accidents. Most people are aware of the hazards associated with the use of electricity. However, few are aware of how little current is required to cause injury or even death. In fact, the current drawn by a 7½ watt, 120-volt lamp, if it passes through the chest (usually hand-to-hand current path), is enough to cause ventricular fibrillation of the heart, potentially resulting in death.
