“Jealousy is bred in doubts. When those doubts change into certainties, then the passion either ceases or turns absolute madness”( George Eliot). In the beginning of the play Iago and Roderigo hated Othello because he had chosen Michael Cassio as his second in commander , Iago had thought that he was going to get the job. The reason why Roderigo hated Othello because Othello had married the love of Roderigo 's life. Iago and Roderigo discussed how they wanted to ruin Othello’s life. They were both jealous of Othello and wanted to get all the revenge they were able to get for all that Othello had done to them. Jealousy is an unhappy or angry feeling caused by the belief that someone you love likes or is liked by someone else. In Othello , William Shakespeare created the most evil person in all of literature, Iago. Iago wanted revenge on Othello because he felt he was a better soldier than Michael Cassio. Out of revenge, Iago successfully planted the seeds of jealousy into Othello’s mind when in the garden he insinuated that Michael Cassio and Desdemona were having an affair, when Iago had his wife, Emilia, steal the strawberry embroidered handkerchief and Iago lied to Othello about Michael Cassio’s so-called wild dream.
Out of revenge, Iago successfully planted the seeds of jealousy into Othello’s mind when in the garden he insinuated that Michael Cassio and Desdemona were having an affair. Iago told Othello that Michael Cassio was going to come and talk to him. Igao Made…
