In Act 1 Scene 2 we straight away realize Iago is successfully switching personalities with no hesitation which is surprising as Iago’s point of view towards Othello in the scene before was so negative and full of hate. It’s a strong skill to be able to hold such an act towards someone more superior then yourself and keep the act going. As Iago knows what he’s creating and developing in Othello’s head demonstrates the twisted and confusing personality Iago has in reality but strongly hides in appearance. The actions Iago performs displays the courage and villainess mindset he possesses which displays Iago is the antagonist and Othello is the protagonist.
Shakespeare demonstrates how easily it is to be fooled by someone as Othello is the victim of this fake appearance Iago acts out, he uses the mind trick of appearance versus reality as it happens regularly in society. Other than being a theme in books and plays,
