Stress is a universal element experienced by employees (Individuals and groups) around the globe. Stress has become a major problem which has had negative impact on individuals, groups and organizations. Employers today are critically analyzing the stress management issues that contribute to lower job performance of employees originating from dissatisfaction and high labor ultimately affecting organizational goals and objectives. We have external and internal demands. External demands come from people or situations. The people can be friends, family, work colleagues, neighbors, anyone and from life events such as births, weddings, bereavement, illness, jobs, house move, family celebrations and others. Internal demands are what one expects him or herself and others in one’s life. For example, one’s own standards of performance behavior, appearance and any other personal values and needs for one’s well-being.
External demands can be managed or coped through people and things such as helpful friends or family and helpful resources such as time-saving and labor saving equipment or people. Internal demands can be managed by one’s own personal strengths and qualities, perhaps a positive attitude, tolerance, faith, problem-solving skills or other things. If someone’s demand side is balanced by your coping side, then stress can be managed. If the sides are out of balanced with strong demands but weak coping resources then you could feel stressed. Negative stress to one person can be a positive challenge to another. Stressful situations cannot always be totally eliminated but there is a lot that one can do to reduce them and cope with them and one can sometimes make situations stress free. Whatever the cause of stress and to what degree, it needs to be dealt with because repeated stress can cause anxiety. This is when we feel uneasy,
