You are getting ready for a vacation on the beach. Just think of the beautiful coral reefs, the warm sand, the crystal clear water; it is pure paradise. You can almost feel the warm water splashing against your ankles as you walk along the beach. It is perfect, but there is one problem: over 90% of the effects of global warming go directly to the same oceans you enjoy on your vacations. The oceans are becoming warmer. We may think, who cares? I love the warm water. But not everyone on earth is thinking that. We may enjoy the warm water, but we do not realize what it is doing to other parts of the ocean. For example, how global warming is affecting the polar ice caps. It not only affects the oceans, but it affects people, the atmosphere, and every life form on the planet. Though we know that the Earth is changing, some people still refuse to believe that climate change is occurring. They may say it is natural, however the signs of climate change are everywhere and the facts are undeniable. Humans may not be the sole cause of climate change, but human actions negatively affect the environment and need to be fixed. The greenhouse effect is the main instigator of global warming. There are six main greenhouse gases. Those six gases are carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons, and sulphur hexafluoride.
